BURBERRY? DO YOU MEAN BLUEBERRY?

If it depends on Christopher Bailey we will be walking dressed like failed cupcakes soon. Before his fashionshow for next spring he was a saint to me, but now he made his collection to rough. Does he already have a midlife crisis which leads him to seeing everything in pastels?

During London Fashion Week in september, Bailey showed his ready-to-wear collection. The collection was weak and unoriginal. I still have respect for Bailey. But every silhouette was simply the same. Lace, pastels, felted coats and most of the time models were wearing the same sandals. The coats looked like they were cut out from a large piece of felt. The handbags were just stupid. Decorated with childish flowers, little rushes and surprise surprise, pastels. Models were even wearing blouses we've seen a thousand times the last year. See-trough, closed with a collar and patch pockets on the chest. And when you thought it couldn't get worse, it did. A model appeared in a blouse with large dots and a skirt with stripes. Is this a coloring book or a fashion show?

Self respect

There still were good things in this collection. A see-trough raincoat with diamants in floral form. A sublime red costume coat without buttons and also a pencil skirt with the same, beautiful diamant flowers. But this pencil skirt was see-trough. Talking about 'wearable'. Which woman with a size more than 36 and a little bit of self respect would ever wear a skirt that leaves nothing to the imagination ?

Mindfuck

In short, the show was a pastel nightmare. Still the collection is very popular now and was well received. So maybe I just have something against pastels? Let’s just forget about this disturbing collection and hope for better from Bailey in the future. A saint, an artist and a wasco enthusiast. Apparently.
